Thank you so much, Andrea, for the great training session! It was very engaging, a lot of fun, and I’ve learned a great deal. I was also pleasantly surprised by the hybrid format, which—from my perspective as an in-person participant—worked very well and didn’t disrupt the session (which, in my experience, is often the case). The frequent breaks, the repetitions, and the practical focus were all very well done, as were the questions posed to the participants. I have absolutely no complaints :)

For me, this is a very complex topic since I’m new to IT governance and am not yet familiar with the frameworks. So, while I understand what COBIT 2019 is and what it can be used for, I wouldn’t be able to apply it in practice. The instructor, Andrea, was great and tried to explain things simply. Maybe sometimes a little too simply, since the leap from very simplified examples to real-world application can be hard to grasp. Still, I would take another seminar with Andrea anytime. Even though it was an online course, she kept me engaged every minute, and the time flew by. I’d like to request that you send me a certificate of participation via email.

The ISTQB training was really great! The material was presented in a very clear and practical way. I especially liked that the course covered both theoretical fundamentals and many practical examples. The instructor was very knowledgeable, patiently answered all questions, and created a pleasant learning environment. Andrea made the training session very interesting and engaging, and she repeatedly enriched it with vivid examples from her own personal experiences. I feel well prepared for the upcoming exam. The training took place in a very pleasant setting. I learned a great deal from the training. Andrea did an excellent job of involving me in the sessions, even though I was the only online participant (the rest of the participants were on-site). There were enough breaks to help me stay focused throughout the entire training. The training is very hands-on. However, the training alone isn’t enough if you want to take the exam. You should plan to set aside a few days for studying beforehand.

Our professionally diverse group consisted of experienced colleagues who were a bit underchallenged on the first day. It’s possible that, due to their fast-paced daily routines, the participants didn’t fully grasp the opportunity to approach the training in a relaxed manner. On the second day, we agreed with the trainer that each participant in the small group would present a use case. Working together, identifying pain points, and the trainer’s excellent coaching created an exceptional learning atmosphere. We are currently setting up a follow-up program across departments because we want to sustain the added value of the training on an ongoing basis. Overall, the in-person session—with its mix of shared breaks, brainstorming, and lighthearted interludes—was ideal!

I’ve taken a lot of classes, and I’ve even taught a lot of classes myself. Andrea did a fantastic job! She kept the class focused but also lighthearted at the same time. She engaged the class by providing feedback, encouraging us to ask questions, and always making sure we understood the topic. She added humor and used our own personal examples to help us understand the concepts better. Her English was very easy to understand. She scheduled breaks at appropriate intervals. At the beginning of the class, she asked us all what we expected from the class. At the end of the class, she asked if we got what we expected. She always summarized the previous day’s material at the start of the next day. Great class, even better instructor!!!! I honestly wish every class I take could be taught by Andrea.

I would have appreciated it if the two ISACA basic brochures (COBIT Introduction/Methodology and 40 Objectives) had also been included in printed form as part of the materials. (That was the only fly in the otherwise excellent ointment...)

After 2.5 years of lockdown, this was the first in-person training session. I’m very impressed with the trainer, Andrea K., who managed to engage me with the material, adapt to my needs, and take my learning pace into account (as well as that of the group, of course!). She also impressed me with her in-depth knowledge of the subject matter, allowing her to answer all my questions convincingly. That’s not easy in my case, and most trainers tend not to succeed at it. Andrea K., however, certainly did. The technology, the training room, and the entire location were wonderful for creating a good, professional learning atmosphere. It was a packed schedule, through which Andrea K. guided us with confidence and charm—with time for questions, group work, solving and discussing sample exam questions, and, of course, the exam at the end. Serview knows how to welcome its guests and make them feel at home. From coffee and cold drinks to chocolate bars and ice cream, everything a training participant could possibly need is there. I felt very comfortable in the on-site hotel room. Here, too, service is a top priority. I’m sure the selection at the breakfast buffet and the water pressure in the shower will be even better on my next visit.

The goal is to pass the exam. To do that, I’ll have to cram a lot of information into my head—which is already full of other things—over the course of three days. Axekos sets requirements and provides guidelines that are cumbersome to follow. 1. I like Serview’s approach with workbooks, but it still lacks structure. There needs to be a direct connection to the manual with specific references to chapters and/or diagrams. Why? Everything has to be transferred to short-term memory as quickly as possible for exam day. 2. Only the guidelines are allowed during the exam, which means the book should be specifically incorporated into the training to teach how to use it.

Thanks to the almost workshop-like format, any questions that came up were answered quickly and reliably at any time—which is one of the main reasons why I never got bored and the time flew by. At least for me, I didn’t once find myself glancing at the clock thinking, “How much longer is this going to last?—yawn.” Even though AK repeatedly emphasized that she isn’t actually an IT professional, she still had plenty of examples on hand to convey the material clearly. And I’ve met other people who considered themselves IT professionals but lacked this level of expertise—which is why I’d recommend that AK not keep emphasizing that fact over and over again. First of all, I’m disappointed with the evaluation process. In all the other training sessions I’ve taken so far, we had to evaluate different aspects of the training individually. That makes sense, too, so you can see what went well and where there’s room for improvement. How do you plan to reliably identify areas for improvement with such a vague evaluation? It was also disappointing that the scanner malfunctioned yesterday, and we didn’t receive the results until two hours later. Trying to cover such extensive training material in just three days isn’t effective either. As a participant, you can’t really take much away from it. The material was covered too quickly and without sufficient depth. As a result, the course served only to obtain certification for the Interxion employee. The trainer conveyed the dry material as best she could and tried to hold our attention with anecdotes. I give her 5 stars. Due to the other shortcomings, however, I can only award 2 stars.

I took my last ITIL Foundation course 10 years ago and thought this would be another long-winded and dry session. But I couldn’t have been more wrong—the trainer managed to present the material in an engaging and entertaining way, which is a truly remarkable achievement given the subject matter and the multitude of new terms. On top of that, it was extremely hot on all three days of the course, so by noon at the latest, it was hard to stay fully focused. Two ITIL Intermediate courses in one week is quite a challenge. The subject matter itself is dry enough. Andrea not only managed to guide all participants successfully through the two exams—no, it was actually a lot of fun, so much so that after a week with the other participants, we were almost sad that it was over. The content was enriched with many illustrative examples, and any questions were clarified immediately. Overall, the instructional approach—based on the workbook method—and Andrea’s delivery were efficient and effective; or, to put it in ITIL terms, the service met the requirements exactly in terms of utility and warranty. Especially for newcomers to this field, it’s difficult to navigate the abundance of new terms and concepts without follow-up study. However, the trainer, Andrea K., always explained the material clearly using excellent real-world examples. She was very well prepared and addressed the participants’ questions. In particular, the question-and-answer sessions and small-group exercises designed to review and reinforce the material greatly contributed to my understanding. The group had the necessary freedom for discussions and follow-up questions, but Andrea still managed to keep everyone on track to complete the training schedule. In my opinion, perhaps a little more time could be allocated here, though that will likely be difficult given the amount of material to cover in the time available. Unlike with various other courses, the time flew by, and the three days were capped off with passing the exam. :-)

Ms. Schmidt managed to make the rather dry and at times very abstract material accessible to the course participants through clear examples, charm, and humor. As a result, “learning the vocabulary” of the ITIL Foundation became an incredibly effective course that quickly familiarized us with the terminology and concepts of ITIL V3. Serview far exceeded my previous experiences with training programs in every respect. I had a wonderful instructor who explained the material—which was completely new to me and actually rather dry—in a very clear and entertaining way. She was always careful to ensure that every participant understood the material. I had the great pleasure of staying at a top-notch location that left nothing to be desired. The service provided was excellent—whether it came to points of contact and answering questions, ensuring the participants’ culinary well-being, or organizing leisure activities. To list them all in detail would go beyond the scope of this space. My conclusion: I would definitely attend another training session there.

The ITIL Foundation course was the first course I took as a participant at SERVIEW. The instructor, Ms. Andrea Schmidt, represented her company exceptionally well. ITIL Foundation is a bit like learning vocabulary, especially for someone like me who comes from the world of project management rather than IT service management. That’s why I always had to “rethink” things a little. Ms. Schmidt had a knack for explaining the individual processes very clearly, so that “learning” turned into “understanding.” My congratulations to SERVIEW for having such a trainer on staff. She also prepared me exceptionally well for the certification exam. Aside from the training itself, the organizational support provided by the SERVIEW team was excellent. Based on this positive experience, I would definitely turn to SERVIEW again for similar courses.
