Thank you very much for the training, which was as professional as always, and for the perfect learning environment. The methodology and techniques worked flawlessly, and the trainer was friendly and knowledgeable. A major advantage is the option to stay overnight on-site. There, too—as always—the service was perfect. There is one minor criticism, however. The scope of the training is too broad for the allotted time. Unfortunately, this leaves no time for the all-important exchange of experiences among participants, nor for in-depth questions and explanations. Four days would be a better choice.

I found the training very informative and was able to gain a lot of valuable insights for my P2F certification. Even though the technology was a bit disconcerting at first, every effort was made to resolve the issues, and after that, everything went great for the entire two days! Huge kudos to the trainer, who kept his cool despite all the initial difficulties and successfully led the course at a brisk pace. Questions were always answered with great expertise and in great detail! I especially liked the presentation style using the DigiBoard, with its various slides and screenshots, which allowed us to revisit previous scenarios to better understand the connections!

I’m deducting one star, however, because the workbooks unfortunately skimped on the color, which significantly simplifies some of the diagrams. It’s a shame, given that the training was otherwise flawless and engaging.

The training itself was very good, and that pretty much says it all. The certification process was a disaster, and in my opinion, they should reconsider their continued reliance on PeopleCert. The website is slow and very confusing. It also makes me uneasy to have to entrust my ID number to a company. The worst part, however, was the “ExamShield” software. I followed the recommendation to run the system check an hour in advance. I missed my exam because even after two hours, the internet connectivity test still hadn’t finished. Support couldn’t help me because the result wasn’t available yet. If you do even a little research, it seems this isn’t an isolated incident—this problem is mentioned time and again both in the App Store and on TrustPilot. All in all, I’ll now try to avoid this company since I apparently can’t take exams using their software. Best regards, Manuel Schutzenbach

Harald Kluge did a really great job as an instructor and comes across as very likable as a person. It was never boring (which is actually almost impossible with ITIL), the discussions were always productive, and the exam preparation was good. Harald can’t be held responsible for the exam itself, but ITIL really needs to improve and ask questions in understandable and correct German—this is really unacceptable. Training room, presentation techniques, materials, catering—everything was top-notch. I think I’ll continue to book courses with Serview and, above all, with Harald Kluge.

Therefore, my suggestion for improvement would be to split the training over three days so that participants have two days to study, and on the third day they can work through a few practice problems, discuss them in detail, and then take the exam.

The training materials were excellent (workbook). The trainer used a flip chart to illustrate many concepts and often incorporated my role and my daily work to make the subject matter easier to understand. The distances through the on-site housing were very short, which saved a lot of time. The food during the training was excellent. Free drinks and snacks were available, and a delivery service for lunch was also provided—free of charge. Free drinks and ice cream were available at all times (even at night). They really go out of their way to make your stay and learning experience as pleasant as possible. I’m happy to recommend SERVIEW to others!

Those are the three things that come to mind when I think back on the seminar and Mr. Kluge. The topic and the online classroom were two major factors that made me think from the very beginning that the whole thing would be “very boring.” Mr. Kluge completely shattered that notion. Only a small fraction of people have such a positive aura as Mr. Kluge. From the very first moment, he had his camera on and was smiling. He tried to involve everyone without forcing anything on them, and the personal experiences he shared made the whole thing feel very personal despite the digital barrier. The way he presented the topic, as well as his general manner of expression, made the entire subject very interesting and engaging. When I stayed behind at the end to share my opinion and feedback, he clearly welcomed it with joy and addressed every detail in more depth. All in all, I was really pleasantly surprised by the seminar.

The training materials sent out in advance, combined with the presentation of the course content, were well-suited to helping participants gain a thorough understanding of the subject matter. All in all, however, the course met my expectations.

The course was actually supposed to be held in person, but due to the risk of COVID-19, a last-minute decision was made to conduct it entirely online. The instructor handled this with great composure. He was very responsive to all our questions and concerns and did his best to address them, especially regarding the organization of the online exams. That said, the MALC course is already quite challenging, so I would have much preferred in-person training, but we certainly made the best of it. The workbook contained some very unconventional translations, such as “seamless quality,” etc. The trainers and teaching methods were excellent and practical. It might be helpful to go into more detail about process steps such as change control—specifically, that an assessment is conducted for every incident and can be rejected by the desk. This helps prevent misinterpretations.

A Surprising Discrepancy in Perceptions of Service July 24, 2019

Dear Serview Team, I’ve been a customer of yours for many years and have completed several training courses with you, up to the ITIL Expert level. So far, I’ve always been completely satisfied. Yesterday, however, I was unfortunately not so pleasantly surprised. First, the positives: - The instructor, Harald K., did a fantastic job. - The group was great, and with only four people, it was pleasantly small—which would have been an ideal setting for intensive learning sessions. The following points were not positive: - The Foundation compendium (book) was not included, which I should have been able to expect at this price. - The exam isn’t held immediately after the course, which means additional time commitment that wasn’t made clear in advance. - The translations in the workbook are often misleading or ambiguous. I also brought these comments to the instructor’s attention. - The training room at the Hotel Gloria (Wintergarten) was simply unacceptable. It’s not surprising that temperatures can exceed 30°C at this time of year. Choosing a room that has neither air conditioning nor proper ventilation or shade—and that’s used as a walk-through area for other guests—is simply unacceptable. We’re supposed to absorb a high volume of information effectively and efficiently, which, under these conditions, was unfortunately only possible to a very limited extent. Due to these circumstances, yesterday was unnecessarily exhausting. Starting in the afternoon, the effects of the heat were clearly noticeable in everyone. Please plan a little better in the future and reinstate the books as part of the training materials; in my opinion, this expense should not be cut from the budget. Best regards, Claus-Peter Pfau

Service Strategy: The start of a 2.5-day long-haul flight with Captain Harald K. in perfect weather was very pleasant. The cruising altitude was over 10,000 meters, and visibility was unobstructed. The enjoyable flight didn’t feel long thanks to the excellent in-flight entertainment program. The landing, which involved some light turbulence, was successful, and we touched down safely. The next flight is already planned :-)

The content was presented clearly and effectively. The teaching method using the workbook is really excellent; it makes it easy to learn and helps you retain information much better. I had absolutely no prior experience with project management, so everything was completely new to me. However, the way the material is taught is extremely poor. For both the Foundation and Practitioner exams, you’re presented with entirely new material on the day of the exam—material that’s then directly tested just 30 minutes later. No matter the subject matter or topic, this method of imparting and retaining knowledge is never appropriate. For the Practitioner exam, which focuses on understanding and application, this issue is even more serious—especially considering that this certification is required for professional use and that failing it could result in professional and career-related disadvantages. Even though the pass rates (at least 95% for the Foundation exam) speak for themselves, this cannot serve as a benchmark for maintaining this structure of training and examination. The instructor was consistently friendly, competent, and dedicated to his students. However, he did not address questions very well. If a question was not understood on the second attempt, it was cut off and declared answered. I found his explanations, his efforts to convey knowledge, and his confirmation that the knowledge had been understood to be too brief and perfunctory.

The subject matter was very complex—too complex for just two days, in my opinion. After the first day—or rather, after 9 hours of training—I spent another 2.5 hours studying on my own at home that evening. The instructor had recommended this using some practice worksheets, and it was really important! I highly recommend this to anyone planning to take this course. The trainer, Harald K., was truly excellent. He illustrated the extensive material in a very vivid way. He addressed every question, no matter how small, and guided participants to the answer with clear explanations and, at times, entertaining real-life examples. I’ve completed many training courses, but Harald K. has surpassed all other trainers I’ve encountered so far in his ability to get to the heart of the matter and explain things clearly. He makes the subject engaging, is motivating, and approaches every question and problem with a very positive attitude. He has demonstrably proven that he possesses a wealth of expertise. Furthermore, he’s excellent at taking the pressure off regarding the exam and immediately notices when he needs to bring someone back on track in the course because they’ve just (once again) gotten lost in the sea of information. I hadn’t been familiar with the workbook approach (or the color-coding system) before. I personally really liked it. You get actively involved; it’s engaging and helps tremendously because you stay focused on the subject matter and aren’t lulled to sleep by boring PowerPoint slides. Serview in Bad Homburg has a very pleasant atmosphere; you’re well taken care of, and hardly any request went unfulfilled. I’ll be back—I’ll do my next training course at Serview. I have to give this course the highest praise—at least as far as the theory is concerned. It remains to be seen to what extent what we learned can be put into practice. But the course’s focus is clearly on theoretical process modeling approaches. The course venue was very modern, and the refreshments during breaks and the lunch buffet were excellent. The instructor taught the ITIL basics with a high level of expertise and illustrated the content with many metaphors. There was also plenty of fun, which made the session much more lively. The schedule is quite tight. Here, they could either allocate more time or condense the material a bit, since by the afternoon I was having a hard time—or even unable—to absorb the material.

PRINCE2 is an excellent project management methodology and provides valuable insights even for ongoing projects. The instructor presented the material very well and illustrated it with examples from his own project experience. A two-day course is clearly too short for the material covered, which is why I’m giving it 4 stars. There wasn’t enough time to really go through all the material and apply the examples to the participants’ own experiences—which is, after all, one of the major advantages of in-person training. The course facilities, equipment, and meals were excellent.

The instructor explained the subject—which involves many theoretical concepts but is nonetheless practical and results-oriented—very clearly and, in my opinion, conveyed the essential and most crucial aspects of PRINCE2. The test was comprehensive and difficult. Fortunately, the passing threshold (50%) isn’t that high. It was interesting to note the differences compared to project management at our company—which aims to align with PRINCE2—as well as to project management at my previous employers. As a result, some of the connections weren’t straightforward and were confusing at times. I would love to participate in an in-depth course on this topic. I consider the PRINCE2 approach to be very effective in practice.
