I gained a really good and comprehensive overview of portfolio management and came away with many ideas for our company. The traditional MoP, however, doesn’t go into much detail about agile work methods. Michael still answered my questions on this topic, though. The seminar worked well for me even online. Hello everyone, Now that the training is over, I’d like to share my feedback on it and on our trainer, Michael Heyn. Although the training content itself is quite dry, Michael managed to make it a lot of fun (probably for all participants). He consistently found effective ways to illustrate topics or entire sections of material and was always able to come up with great examples off the cuff. This allowed me to successfully refresh my ITIL Foundation v2 knowledge in a very relaxed and pleasant environment. I also really liked the training center: super friendly, attentive staff, good food, and plenty of “toys” throughout the building to ensure the participants had a good time. Hi Michael, I thought the training was very well structured, and you explained the material (despite the sheer volume) in a way that was easy to understand and repeated it often enough that I was able to memorize many key terms right away. I appreciated the sample questions—they were very helpful. Your additional diagrams were also very clear and made a lot of things easier to understand, especially because you chose an example that even someone without significant IT knowledge could visualize (a PC workstation). My review requires some differentiation: Performance by Serview and Michael H.: Michael H. prepared us very well for the MoP© exam and was always able to answer participants’ individual questions with realistic examples. I’m giving this aspect alone a 5-star rating here. Criticism of the general training structure: It’s a shame that there is little to no time left to work through and reflect on individual topics—for example, through group work—or to use that time to deepen one’s understanding of the material. Unfortunately, the exam-relevant material is too tightly packed to allow for this during the 2.5-day course. The main risk here is that participants simply store the material in their short-term memory to pass the exam, with little emphasis placed on long-term retention and the practical application of what they’ve learned. In my view, this is a systemic problem. Conclusion: I don’t just want a certificate in my pocket; I want to take something meaningful away with me. Axelos should urgently address this issue.

The training was good as always, and the workbook concept continues to work well for me. Maybe a few more ideas. -) Flipcharts use colors that should also appear in the workbooks; this would significantly improve readability -) Structure/flow: Packing the Guiding Principles into the last section is quite a challenge, since delays can easily occur; plus, they tend to be rather “dry.” At the end of the second day, with the exam on everyone’s mind, it’s hard to really refocus on this topic. In my opinion, it would make sense to cover this topic right on the first day after the SVS (since the context is still fresh). The Practices could then be covered on the second day; these are usually a bit “easier” or more accessible.

Das Training hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Trotz des sehr theoriebasierten und elementaren Hintergrund des ITIL-Foundation-Kurses, war Michael in der Lage die Schulung so zu gestalten, dass meine Konzentration nicht verloren ging. Darüber hinaus hat Michael den Inhalt in einer sehr verständlichen Art und Weise anhand von Use Cases vermittelt. Auch hat Michael sichergestellt, dass jeder im Kurs sich nicht verliert und hat jede Frage mehr als zufriedenstellend beantwortet. Die Bereitstellung der Räumlichkeiten und Services waren sehr gut. Den Lehrstil von Michael schätze ich sehr und bedauere es sehr, dass dieser Kurs lediglich einen Zeitfenster von 3 Tagen hatte. Da relativ sehr viel Inhalt in einem kurzen Zeitraum reinkam besteht die Gefahr, dass das Gelernte nur kurzfristig hängen bleibt. Insgesamt bin ich sehr zufrieden und würde mich freuen, wenn meine nächste Schulung wieder durch Serview GmbH begleitet wird.

The intensive seminar is very well structured, and the instructor (Michael H.) was able to present the material in a clear and organized manner. He also consistently highlighted the connections between concepts, so that we didn’t get lost in the individual details and were able to keep the big picture in mind. Mr. Heyn managed to present a very theoretical and dry topic in a way that kept us from falling asleep. It was a good idea to forgo slides and present the material using a flip chart. Having to take notes certainly helps with concentration and contributes to a deeper understanding. He addressed all questions and always answered them using clear and practical examples.
