Wolfgang guided us through the training in a way I’ve never experienced before. We had very practical discussions before diving into the theoretical content. Throughout, Wolfgang consistently thought outside the box and didn’t shy away from engaging with our different ways of thinking. It was very refreshing, and I was able to take away something I could apply directly to my day-to-day work, along with concrete ideas for implementation. Even as a hybrid participant, I always felt included and never had the feeling that I absolutely had to be there in person. The material wasn’t always easy, but it was still easy to grasp. Ultimately, Wolfgang also prepared us directly for the exam-relevant content. I personally really appreciated this approach!

The offline approach—using a flip chart and a book—sounded very old-fashioned at first, but it was much better for internalizing the material, since it utilized all modes of input (reading, listening, and writing) to convey the content. Through his competent and professional demeanor, Mr. K. effectively conveyed the content and created a relaxed yet focused environment.

Unfortunately, there was a change in instructors during the training. Our first instructor did a great job of presenting the big picture—that really helped me; the philosophy came across perfectly, and the connections to other frameworks and standards were also extremely helpful for understanding the big picture. I would have liked him to stay until the end of the week; it was very challenging to keep up with him, but also very helpful. Our second trainer had a completely different philosophy. I actually liked his style very much as well, though it was very focused on the exam material and specific content. There were examples and references, but not as extensively as in the first two days. On the other hand, he was very engaged, especially in involving the online participants. All in all, scoring 39 out of 40 points shows that the training was very successful, and I was able to take a lot away from it.

The teaching approach was fairly traditional, but I really learned a lot (at least that’s how I feel). I do see room for improvement in two areas: 1. The materials (not just the audio track) could be made more gender-inclusive. 2. The topics covered could be tailored more closely to the specific logic of universities (rather than businesses). For me, the virtual classroom was a great solution given the current situation! A positive side effect—I didn’t have to leave home, so I didn’t have the stress of figuring out where to leave my son. Since it was just my trainer and me, we were able to structure the entire training session very flexibly. My trainer did just that, in consultation with me. He addressed my questions and answered them competently and in detail. We went through the practice exam together. For questions I answered incorrectly, he explained them to me again using the correct answer. He also gave me helpful tips for the exam! All in all, a training course I highly recommend!

In addition, the topic is very theoretical and rarely encountered in its “perfect” form in the real world. The topics were explained well, there were no unnecessarily long discussions, and we finished at a reasonable time each day, so there was still time to study outside of the training sessions. At some point, though, your head just gets full, and then nothing else gets in. But that’s more due to the volume of the materials—it’s not the trainer’s fault. All in all, everything was good; in any case, I apparently understood everything well enough that I passed the exam.

A truly successful seminar July 2, 2013

Even though I went into the seminar with an open mind and had no expectations whatsoever, I was very pleasantly surprised. The subject matter is quite dry in places, but Mr. Krüger explained it very clearly using easy-to-understand examples. As a result, the three days flew by and never felt tedious, as is sometimes the case. The excellent orientation and exam preparation, as well as the time set aside for questions despite the tight seminar schedule, were other positive aspects. Something Mr. Krüger had no control over, however, were the sometimes quite significant differences between the practice test questions and the actual exam questions. Here, I would hope that the practice test questions would give participants a better sense of what the exam questions will actually look like. The practice questions and the mock exam were relatively easy because they were very clearly focused on the topic. In my view, the exam questions were phrased in a roundabout way and were therefore difficult to grasp, even though I had a very good understanding of the material.

Mr. Krüger is a pleasant instructor who motivates students and covers the material at just the right pace. Reviewing the material makes it easier to retain. However, I sometimes felt that practical relevance or real-world examples were missing, which would have made the material even more vivid. In addition, we spent too much time on the introduction and getting to know each other.
