I really enjoyed the training. It was fun! The approach of having to fill in the diagrams yourself was a great choice. It really makes you pay attention. The topics were explained in a clear and easy-to-understand way. The pace was perfect. There were three of us—which I actually liked, because it allowed for close interaction and created a great atmosphere. Nina was able to answer all our questions well. The two-day training course provided me with the most important fundamentals for gaining a solid understanding of ITIL 4. I’d especially like to highlight the trainer, who guided us through the course with her friendly manner and did an excellent job of conveying the sometimes abstract and complex material using a well-thought-out and clearly structured approach. I also found it very helpful that real-world examples were incorporated throughout the course to illustrate terminology and definitions. I also thought the additional focus on practice questions geared toward the subsequent certification exam was very effective. Questions raised by the participants were answered thoroughly and competently at all times. I highly recommend this training!

We were a group of 14 participants. Nina explained all the topics clearly, addressed every question and point of confusion, and—beyond just the ITIL definitions—often conveyed them very well in practical terms, which shows that she generally has a good understanding of the real-world IT landscape. On the second day, there were two challenging slides that would have been easier to understand if they had been broken down into smaller slides. Time management was also handled well, and we didn’t experience any delays during breaks.

I found the training to be well-structured and flawlessly conducted. The expected ability to apply theory from the workbook and handouts to the exam questions was good, even though it seemed odd to me to take a practice exam on the evening of the first day of training without having studied all the material that would be covered. If the intention was to highlight the differences between traditional and current thinking in the ITIL field, there was simply too much material that really should have been studied beforehand. Otherwise, I think it’s a good idea to contrast one’s own way of thinking with ITIL and to have to work through one’s own thoughts, combined with self-reflection, at the end of a training day. With the questions used in the workbook, I often found that—possibly due to a less-than-accurate translation—several answer choices appeared to be correct. Furthermore, terms such as I R A, I R Q, or the “Service-Value System” (translated as “Servicewertesystem”) were rendered in a mix of German and English. The former is highly confusing, since—at least when it comes to abbreviations—I assume a single language is used consistently; in the latter example, it’s simply a distraction that makes you pause briefly and wonder if you’ve read it correctly. The instructor’s explanation—that the translation is specified by the provider—made sense to me; however, the provider could potentially improve this by using a consistent language, at least for abbreviations and keywords.

Since in-person classes have been more or less impossible for the past year, I decided to give a VLC training course a try after all. I was familiar with the Serview concept from previous training sessions, but I was skeptical about whether it could work online. I have to say: Thumbs up—it works. The training content was conveyed very well; questions could be asked at any time and were answered competently. In my view, this was largely due to the trainer’s expertise and also to the small group size. The training content was very condensed, yet the 7–8 hours spent in front of the computer each day flew by and were very focused. Anyone who chooses this type of training should, however, make sure that their “environment” is suitable and that there are as few external distractions as possible. Otherwise, it can sometimes be a bit difficult to stay focused.

You can really tell she has personal experience in this subject area. This allows her to prioritize effectively and keep the participants engaged with the topic throughout. The pace is perfectly tailored to the content in each situation. Many thanks to her for her practical, outstanding training expertise. I’ve always viewed Serview as a quality leader with a pioneering reputation in the industry. Having attended my first training session at your facility, I’m now surprised—given my expectations—that some of the materials are translated so poorly. For example, when the term “resilient” is translated as “stable” and “resilient” instead of simply using “resilient” in German, “Service Management” as “service management,” “co-created” as “co-created,” “compliance” as “conformity,” “owning GRC” as “possessing GRC,” …, it simply frustrates me as a participant that the work here was so unprofessional and sloppy. This then unfairly casts a shadow over the entire training session. The trainer’s materials also differ in wording from those of the participants, even though they are from the same release version. I consider the failure to bring something so easy to change up to an acceptable standard to be a disregard for me as a participant. This certainly wasn’t the first training session in which these materials were used. Even so, the materials should not have been allowed to pass through quality assurance in the first place. I have one more point regarding the materials: With the workbook, the handout, and the screenshots, I end up with three documents that I have to use simultaneously to continue preparing for the exam. For me personally, this is inefficient. A single workbook—in which I’ve incorporated the slides and taken my notes—would be sufficient for me. That would allow me to prepare for the exam efficiently. Your trainer, Nina, has already acknowledged my dissatisfaction and addressed it very effectively. She did a great job, so I’ll definitely recommend your training program to others. By tapping into the existing potential for improvement, Serview could take a significant step forward. In my view, this would allow you to easily meet the high expectations. Overall, I found the training session very enjoyable. Nina guided us through the material in a structured and goal-oriented way. Her eloquent presentation was very memorable. Occasionally, I still find the slides a bit underdeveloped—and in some cases, even somewhat misleading. The syntactic and semantic exercises in the workbook also have some room for improvement. Hello, Well, the instructor, Nina, was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all my questions quickly and clearly. I’m feeling confident and ready for the exam. I would appreciate a writable PDF, or for the workbook to be mailed to me, or a note telling me to print it out. The topic itself is quite dry, but very interesting. We were confronted with many terms and the necessary definitions. However, Ms. Heinze managed to keep us motivated throughout and illustrated practical applications using vivid examples. She had good timing, so we were able to complete all the exercises.
