ISTQB^® Test Management (CTAL-TM) v3.0 Training and Certification

This advanced-level certification is ideal for you if you work in software test management. It is designed for individuals in roles such as testers, test consultants, test managers, user acceptance testers, Scrum Masters, project managers, or product owners. The Advanced Level Test Management certification is also an excellent choice for you if you wish to gain an advanced understanding of software testing—for example, as a project manager, quality manager, software development manager, business analyst, IT director, or management consultant. As a holder of the “Advanced Level Test Management” certificate, you can then go on to earn the ISTQB® certifications for software testing at the expert level. The “ISTQB® Certified Tester Advanced Level – Test Manager” or “Test Management” certificate is valid indefinitely and does not need to be renewed. It is internationally recognized and confirms your professional competence and credibility in the field of test management.

To obtain this certification, you must hold the Certified Tester Foundation Level v4.0 or an earlier version of the Foundation Level certificate and have sufficient practical experience. Please contact an ISTQB® member body or an exam provider to learn about the specific criteria for practical experience.

Once you have successfully completed the “Certified Tester Advanced Level Test Management” certification, you will be qualified to take on a key role in test management for various software development projects. You will be able to apply established test management processes that are specifically tailored to the needs of your project team or test organization.

Furthermore, you will be able to conduct risk assessments and use the results to guide testing activities so that the defined testing objectives are achieved efficiently.

You will continuously monitor and manage the testing to ensure that project goals are met, and regularly report on progress to all project stakeholders.
• Your ability to identify and develop the necessary skills within your team will be essential. You will also be able to create compelling business cases for the testing phases, clearly outlining the costs and expected benefits.
• In addition, you lead initiatives to improve the testing process both in your projects and across your organization's entire software development process. You plan testing activities in detail, including the necessary testing infrastructure, and accurately estimate the testing effort.

To participate in this training, you must hold the “Certified Tester Foundation Level” certificate, version 4.0 or earlier. At least 6 months of experience in software development or software testing is recommended, but it is not a formal requirement for the exam.
