A very good two-day training course, but with very extensive content

Radu kept the training very engaging, actively involved the participants, and responded very well to their needs and questions. We had actually planned an in-person training session but then switched to an online format. My impression was that there was too much content for a two-day online training session. The pace at which we covered the topics was appropriate at the beginning, but on the second day, it became clear that we were running out of time. Overall, the content was excellent and the trainer was very good, but for an online training session, it might be better to spread the content over three days. I’m not sure if we would have managed it better in terms of time management during an in-person training session.

The training was really good. The hands-on exercises were particularly valuable, and the clear examples and interactive format made it easier to understand the material.
Christian presented complex content in a structured and clear manner. His flexibility in addressing questions enhanced our learning experience.

The handouts should be in color.
There is far too much material for two days. The training should be extended to three days.

Over the course of five days, I attended both the DevOps Fundamentals and the Leadership Training courses taught by Mr. Wagner. There was a lot of material to cover, but Mr. Wagner skillfully and confidently conveyed it in an engaging and humorous way. It was clear that he has a very broad and in-depth knowledge of various disciplines. Thank you very much for the five days—it was very exciting and interesting!

Even though I’m not completely new to DevOps—or the concept of DevOps—it was great to brush up on the fundamentals. A completely worry-free experience and I learned a lot

Serview GmbH, as the organizer, provides a truly ideal setting for this course. The location is easy to reach, and meals are always provided. This allows participants to devote themselves fully to the subject matter. The instructor was enthusiastic, very dedicated, and open-minded. His appropriate sense of humor and regular engagement with the participants repeatedly brought energy to the otherwise “dull” set of slides. Whether in person or remotely—I think everyone was able to learn a lot (including from one another) over the three days. Although the seminar’s content was tightly scheduled, it all made perfect sense. Afterwards and throughout the course, the trainer would frequently pose spontaneously devised questions to us participants to deepen our understanding and ensure we were well-prepared for the accompanying exam. A complete success!
One comment: It would be great if, in the future, the handout for the DevOps Leadership Seminar were structured exactly like the workbook for the DevOps Fundamentals training. That one is a real eye-catcher!

Hello!
Overall, I am very satisfied with the DevOps Compact Training. The Fundamentals section, in particular, featured the usual excellent material in the form of the Serview workbook, and the trainer’s broad range of experience enriched the theoretical portion with several practical examples.
Unfortunately, at the time of the training, only the accompanying material from PeopleCert.Org was available for the Leadership section, which I personally consider unacceptable. In addition to technical shortcomings in the presentation (slides and handouts), the way the information is presented is not comparable to the material in the Fundamentals workbook. Hopefully, the Serview workbook for the Leadership course will be released soon.
I have two suggestions based on my experience in “both camps”—Dev & Ops:
- Set up the Compact Course as a standalone course and “lighten” the Leadership section by removing the repetitions from the Fundamentals. Perhaps this would make an in-person exam possible again
- A consistent case study—for example, on the further development of an existing IT service or a fancy iPhone app—could, in my opinion, provide an additional common thread.

Our coach, Radu, covered an enormous amount of material clearly and comprehensively in just two days. He used many real-world examples to do so. This gave me better insight into and a deeper understanding of the very broad range of topics covered by DevOps. The training materials are good and facilitate effective learning. Overall, it was a good and comprehensive training course. However, I would have liked more time for reflection and client-specific topics.
