An excellent in-person training course on PRINCE2 Agile (Foundation and Practitioner) with Erik Kurths. The course covered a lot of material in just a few days, during which Erik gave us (the participants) a great insight into the world of PRINCE2 Agile. There’s a methodology for every learning style to help participants internalize the course content. Our trainer, Thomas, presented the material in a very clear and engaging way, so the week flew by. Great instructor, excellent preparation for the certification exam

The training was totally worth it. Mr. Imm did an excellent job of building on the previous training session and presenting the topics. The practical applications he developed to complement the theoretical content were also very clear and made everything even easier to understand. Mr. Imm consistently addressed the participants’ needs and took a solution-oriented approach. Bottom line: The training was worthwhile, a great trainer, and I would definitely recommend it. Thank you. Feedback to the organizers: As a participant, I wasn’t aware that this was a hybrid event. I had expected to meet more participants in person (I was the only one there) so I could, among other things, discuss the training and expand my network. That’s only possible to a very limited extent in a hybrid event (or even online). So I was somewhat disappointed. Furthermore, I don’t think it’s right that the training materials aren’t made available digitally for in-person participants—I’m happy to receive them in paper form for the on-site event, but for studying later, please make them available digitally as well.

Foundation level is solid; Practitioner level has room for improvement

Hello everyone, First of all, thank you very much for the training last week in Hamburg. My overall impression was extremely positive, especially regarding the trainer (Cerrin) and the location. Regarding the content of the two training sessions, Foundation and Practitioner, I have the following comments and suggestions for improvement: The Foundation course was really excellent—we spent three full days thoroughly exploring the topics and focusing on the PRINCE2 Agile content. The exam preparation using the sample exam was also very helpful. During the Practitioner training, I found it a bit of a shame that a lot of time was “wasted” on exercises that were quite superficial and simple. I still found the Scrum exercise at the beginning very enjoyable, but spending 60 minutes each on writing 1–2 user stories and prioritizing them—I actually found that less helpful. In my view, that would only have made sense if all the course participants had been absolute beginners who had never heard of any of this before. In contrast, the Practitioner exam was really very difficult, and these exercises added no value whatsoever to preparing for it. I would have liked to see even more focus on the sample exam and, if possible, a second practice exam. Furthermore, I found it quite confusing that English-language books were handed out, even though the course and the exam were offered in German and German translations are already available (one participant had received this in German beforehand). Given the price of the course, I would have expected the corresponding materials to be provided. This gave the impression that they were trying to “get rid of” the old English-language books. I’ve now passed the exam, but otherwise this issue would have really bothered me. It’s not that I don’t know English, but when you’ve been working with German terms in that context for five days, you end up needing a lot of time during the exam—time you don’t have—to find the right passages. As I mentioned above, overall I was very satisfied with the training, especially with the Foundation portion. I would definitely recommend it, though mainly just for the Foundation training (and not for the Practitioner portion due to the issues mentioned above on Day 4). Thanks again to Cerrin, who did an absolutely excellent job. I’ve been to training sessions before where instructors had to look up virtually every question from the class or provide the answer the next day—that wasn’t the case at all with Cerrin. She addressed every question in detail, always had expert answers ready, and created a great atmosphere—thank you very much! :)

Comprehensive Knowledge Acquisition Presented in a Concise Format

The Course took place in Düsseldorf in mid-October 2019. # The venue at the SkyTower Düsseldorf was perfectly organized; great location, excellent service, and pleasant, well-designed facilities # The trainer, Michael Baumann, is an excellent instructor who conveys knowledge in a very pleasant, unobtrusive, and friendly manner # The scope of the material was extremely complex; combining PRINCE2 and Agile in parallel as Foundation and Practitioner courses—without any prior exposure to the subject matter—wasn’t the best choice I could have made in hindsight. Nevertheless, Michael Baumann conveyed the topics very effectively to the participants, often drawing on his own experience, which resulted in an excellent translation of the theoretical material into practical application. My recommendation to potential participants would be to first complete the PRINCE2 approach as Foundation and Practitioner and then—after a little time has passed—build the Agile approach on top of that. Alternatively, you could engage intensively with the subject matter through self-study beforehand. I can wholeheartedly and unreservedly recommend both Serview and Michael Baumann. A good and very quick introduction to PRINCE2

The training was very well-balanced and structured in terms of content. The on-site learning environment was also very pleasant, and the trainer was always open to questions and more in-depth explanations. With his friendly and knowledgeable manner, Michael conveyed the material very well and in an easy-to-understand way. It was difficult to truly internalize the content in such a short time for the two exams, which was particularly evident in the second exam, the Practitioner. For someone coming from a different field who is truly new to this subject area, there wasn’t enough time to practice and study. The biggest challenge in this short timeframe was understanding the distinctions between PRINCE2, Agile, and PRINCE2 Agile.

Trainer: A friendly, knowledgeable trainer who, within the limits of what was feasible (better in the Agile course than in the Foundation course, because the group size was more manageable), tailored the session to the participants and treated everyone as equals. It’s also thanks to you that a constructive atmosphere prevailed and everyone actively participated by asking questions. Thank you very much also for sharing the results so quickly! Room: The room provided (at the Marriott) was too small for the size of the Foundation group and improperly furnished (tables too small, much too cramped). Workbook vs. Training Manual: In the “Agile” course, the coordination between the workbook and the official training manual was unfortunate. The reason is that only the training manual is approved for the exam, but what we learned is documented in the workbook. I had to spend quite a bit of time (in the evenings, but sometimes also during the training—which was a bit stressful) keeping the content of both the workbook and the training manual in sync and always finding and marking the correct passages in the manual. Especially for the PRINCE2 “themes,” each of which has its own chapter in the textbook, the blank page (at the beginning of each chapter) could be used more often for the written summary we worked on together, rather than the corresponding page in the Workbook.

Thanks to his very broad and deep subject matter expertise and his practical experience, Mr. Ludwig made the seminar very engaging and interesting. In particular, the second part of the training on the topic of “agile” sparked some intense discussions from which I was able to learn a great deal. I’d also like to give a big compliment to the women who organized the seminar. I felt well taken care of in every way and was able to focus entirely on the course material. Further improvements are possible only in minor details. For example, I was unable to connect my laptop to the open network. Another issue is the software problems with Peoplecert—I still haven’t received my detailed results for the second exam, even though the 48-hour deadline has already passed. As for the facilities, a small, well-equipped fitness room would certainly round out what your institute has to offer. All in all, your institute definitely provides a service worth recommending! Great Introduction to PRINCE2

Hello Mr. Imm, The seminar was very valuable to me from a methodological standpoint and provided good ideas for further developing project management. What we didn't see coming were the English handouts and the "unconventional" exam on Agile. Because we had to deal with the exam, the flow of the seminar suffered a bit on days 2 and 3. Perhaps the sample exam for each chapter could be discussed briefly.

Intensive Training for a Challenging Exam

However, I made the most of the training and preparation provided by Serview’s top instructor on this topic, as well as the intensive study period. I was very unsure whether I should sign up for the training because it’s currently a pilot program (no Practitioner certification required).
